Introduction The main purpose of the present analysis is to perform an economic comparison of the following electric energy generation technologies: Hydroelectric Hydroelectric pumped storage power plant PWR Nuclear power plant with Pressurized Water Reactor NGCC Natural Gas-fired combined cycle (Natural Gas Combined Cycle) HDGT Natural Gas-fired Heavy-Duty gas turbine in simple cycle ADGT Natural Gas-fired Aero-Derivative gas turbine in simple cycle NGSC Natural Gas-fired Steam Cycle (Natural Gas Steam Cycle) CC,COG Cogenerative Combined Cycle PCSC Pulverized Coal Steam Cycle + FGD (Flue Gas Desulphurization) IGCC Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle USC Pulverised Coal Ultra-Super Critical Steam Cycle + FGD CSP Concentrated Solar Power Plant (Parabolic Trough with Diathermic oil + Steam Cycle) Wind On-shore wind farm The following input data are as follow:  Efficiency with respect to nominal conditions (Direct irradiation of 0.8 kW/m2 and nominal wind speed 8 e 15 m/s);  § consider two wind farms with different wind speeds, 8 m/s e 15 m/s respectively;  x,y the equivalent hours of the renewable energy sources are calculated considering the output power at nominal conditions.…
