1 - Exercise (6 points) A company has the network represented in the following figure. The company has obtained the 8 adjacent class-C address blocks starting from X.Y.56.0, where X is a (decimal) number between ….. and …., while Y is a (decimal) number between ….. and …. The network in the Open Space building must guarantee up to 520 wireless accesses active at the same time. The network in the Office building is dimensioned for 50 fixed computer connections. The network of the Private Datacenter has five server racks, each one served by a top-of-rack switch. Assume that each top-of-rack switch has 52 ports, fully occupied. pp stands for point-to-point link. The Factory building is equipped by an Ethernet network connecting 50 hosts (used to control machinery) for each pod switch, with four pods. Assign to each subnet a letter in increasing alphabetical order according to the number of hosts (A  largest network, etc.). On the figure, graphically indicate the IP subnets (identify boundaries). a) Explain why using the eight class-C blocks as separate IP networks would not make a good addressing scheme for the company, despite the total number of addresses would be sufficient. b) Assuming that the four blocks are used as a single CIDR addressing space, define an addressing plan for the network able to support all necessary addresses for each subnet, maximizing the number of unused addresses for future expansions.
