Describe and define analytically the two technology assumptions (i.e., Industry-based technology and Product-based technology). Problem A (8 points) The 2011 Supply and Use table of the World economy in monetary units is provided in the “Problem A” tab of the Excel spreadsheet. The table is measured in 2011 euro and presents the following environmental transactions: “Taxes”, “Wages” and “Capital” – which complete the economic description of the system – together with “CO2” and “Water” measured respectively in kg and liters. It is asked to: 1. After calculating coefficients matrices, apply the Leontief quantity model and c alculate the total product demand and total technology output for the baseline system . Select and justify a proper technology assumption. (2 pt) 2. Compute the carbon and water footprint for the 3 commodities of the system. (1 pt) 3.
