1 Possible Q&A Logistics EXAM SIMULATION 2020  What are the main approaches to supply chain strategy according to Lee’s Model? How can these approaches be related to the main variables describing the external context? The matrix can be used to compare our problem to other companies, industries etc. (with relative positions, not absolute) or to compare the same company over the time, because the context can change over the time, and so the strategy has to change. Examples seen during the lectures: - Fashion industry → low SSU + high DSU → responsive SC - Consumer electronics → high both SSU and DSU → agile SC - Food industry → low both SSU and DSU → lean (effective) SC  What is intermodal transportation?
