Introduction This report presents the IES output data about a dynamic thermal modelling of a proposed shoebox. - CHAPTER 1 DESCRIPTION OF THE SHOEBOX 2. Design data The proposed shoebox is located in Semipalatinsk (Kazakhstan) and in Colombo (Sri Lanka). All the thermal simulations are based on the “Apache dynamic simulation” using the CIBSE files on IES software. The outdoor temperature and weather data are related to the location of the building. 2.1 Geometry Fig. 1 Shoebox geometry The shoebox is a rectangular single zone (8m wide x 6m long x 2.7m high) with no interior partitions and 12 m2 of windows on the south exposure. There is 0.2 m of wall below the window and 0.5 m of wall above the window. 2.2 Construction details - Wall - Floor - Roof - Window 2.3 Building template In the following table we presented the thermal template data that we choose for our project. 2.4 Building occupancy period The building has the following occupacy: 8am – 6pm from Monday to Friday. During Saturday, Sunday and holidays the structure is closed. 3. Natural and Mechanical ventilation With natural ventilation we have the possibility of supplying and removing air from an indoor space with- out using mechanical systems. It refers to the flow of external air to an indoor space as a result of pressure differences arising from natural forces. For an accurate analysis we considered, as value to guarantee internal air quality, a value of 39,6 m3/h per person, which corresponds to 2 ac/h.
